Wine Review: From the French Burgundy region, this beautiful Chardonnay is a medium yellow color in the glass, and its bouquet includes buttery pastry, green apple, nutmeg, apple blossom and crushed oyster shells. There's a generous and savory palate which is creamy and balanced, with a medium-plus body and integrated plus acidity. It is crisp, fresh, and pure. I detected flavors of crushed stone, green apple, and gentle oak with notes of lemon and saline. The finish is dry and lasts a long time. Serve alongside sauteed scallops with a lemon beurre Blanc. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: Perron de Mypont Chardonnay is sourced from selected vineyard parcels in the classic Chardonnay areas of the Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Chablis. To ensure elegance and delicacy in the wine, the grapes were picked at optimal ripeness during cool mornings early in the harvest. Following fermentation, the wine was matured for nine months in used French oak barriques and 600-liter demi-muids to develop texture and complexity, while maintaining freshness. The finished wine is rounded and well balanced, with an aroma of white fruits and delicate flowers atop a fine mineral structure.
