Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Zinfandel from Marietta Cellars opens with a boysenberry and black plum bouquet with hints of eucalyptus, sage, and fig. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and fresh with forward flavors. The flavor profile is a dried cranberry and black licorice blend with notes of black tea and graphite. We also detected hints of boysenberry, coconut flakes, black pepper, tobacco, and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and medium dusty tannins show nice length. We would pair this Old School Zinny Zin with roast leg of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Bursting with scents of graham cracker, briar berries, violet, wild thyme, and slowly emerging forestry undertones. The full-bodied palate is packed to the brim with ripe, juicy berry fruit. It has a pleasant touch of chew to its tannins to support its generous fruit, and it has a long, gently warm finish.
