Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Zinfandel from Mauritson opens with a blackberry and cigar box bouquet with hints of mocha, blueberry, and lilac. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, dense, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is a black currant and stone dust blend with notes of cedar and blackberry. We also detected hints of lingonberry, black tea, and loam. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Zin with duck à l'orange or with a slow cooked pot roast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine exudes the purity of the ideal essence of Zinfandel fruit, with aromas of wild blackberry and peach cobbler, sweet spice, red pluot skin and an underlining pulse of confectioner's sugar. Wonderful and lifted flavors of young red raspberry, mineral and bramble frame the firm and youthful tannins. The finish is long and energetic. Enjoy for the next 7-10 years.
