Wine Review: This clear and platinum colored Kabinett level Riesling from Maximin Grunhaus opens with a ginger bouquet with hints of Vaseline, apricot, and barnyard. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is lively, zesty, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is candied ginger and lemon iced tea blend with notes of pineapple and orange peel. We also detected hints of tart white peach and saline. The finish is pleasantly sweet, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. We would serve this Riesling as an aperitif between courses.
