Wine Review: This red colored Sangiovese based wine from Mazzei opens with a fragrant maraschino cherry bouquet with hints of pure vanilla, band-aid and Spanish cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is very tasty red plum with notes of ultra-fine minerality and black cherry. I also detected hints of cedar and strawberry. The finish is dry and its refined tannins build-up very nicely and show a presence, but do not get in the way. This Excellent wine would pair very well with a short rib ragu with pappardelle and pecorino Romano. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Great structure, complex dried flowers, bouquet, very rich and persistent. Pair with savoury dishes, game, stews, truffles, and aged cheeses
