Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah from McPrice Myers is excellent. It opens with a gentle black olive and blackberry bouquet with hints violets and tobacco leaf. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is beautifully textured, nicely balanced, and seamless. The flavor profile is a delicious black currant and dusty crushed stone minerality blend with notes of black plum and black raspberry. We also detected hints of herbal tea, mocha, and sage mixed in. The finish is dry, and its well-managed moderate tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this velvety Syrah with roast beef with Yorkshire pudding or lamb chops.
