Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Syrah from McPrice Myers is a steal! It opens with a mild blackberry and cola bouquet with a faint hint of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and very fresh. The flavor profile is a very tasty black licorice and blackberry blend with notes of black pepper and black tea. I also detected hints of stewed black plum, stony minerality, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, bright acidity, and medium tannins linger for quite a while. I would pair this impressive and great value Syrah with Firefly's Memphis ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Right Hand Man is that old reliable pickup in your grandparents' garage that fires up lickety-split when you turn the key and rev the engine. I know that any time I'm in need, it's my Right-Hand Man that will know the road home and deliver me safely there. I cut my teeth on Central Coast Syrah; it's my refuge. May it be yours as well.
