Wine Review: I have always enjoyed this Cabernet Franc from the Jones Vineyard. The 2012 is no exception. It is pitch black colored and opens with a black olive bouquet with a hint of rubber soul and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, super smooth and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a yummy mild blackberry and black olive blend with notes with notes of tea and blueberry. I also detected a hint of red currant in the aftertaste. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This thick Cab Franc is a teeth stainer. It would be an ideal pairing for beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The deep, purple garnet color invites you to smell the aroma black currant, blueberries with a hint of clove. On the palate, thick and viscous with layered notes of blackberry, red currant, pomegranate and mocha. Long lingering finish with solid tannins for lasting cellaring potential.
