Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Franc from Merriam opens with a black raspberry and graphite bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry and stewed red plum blend with notes a gentle graphite. I also detected hints of strawberry, black pepper and cedar in the background. The finish is dry and its flavors and well-managed tannins drift away nicely. This Cab Franc would pair nicely with Theresa’s meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The color graduates from dark purple to magenta along the edge. This Cabernet Franc has me reminiscing about my last trip to Bordeaux. The earth, dust and mushroom nose remind me of a great Bordeaux wine. When it hits my palate the dark fruits; blackberry and Bing cherry mix with the stone and leather. It’s exquisite!
