Wine Review: This clear and deep garnet colored Pinot Noir from Merriam opens with a fragrant teaberry and cinnamon bouquet with hints of fresh cut cedar and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and plush. The flavor profile is a cedar and cinnamon tea blend with notes of teaberry and cherry candy. We also detected hints of clove, tobacco, honey, black raspberry, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and well-managed tannins fade away nicely. We would pair this Pinot with a duck confit or with a rack of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 vintage evolves from bright notes of summer raspberries to rich, deep fall blackberries. On the nose, a bouquet of florals is accompanied by a medley of clove, black pepper, and mature herbs. This limited production wine represents a balanced blend of estate grown pinot noir, showcasing a harmony of flavor, body, and texture in every sip.
