Wine Review: This clear and deep gold colored Chardonnay from Merriam opens with a shy golden delicious apple bouquet with hints of pineapple. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is a pleasant blend of gentle Bartlett pear and mild pineapple with notes of brioche and almond. I also detected hints of chamomile tea at the very end. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this crowd-pleasing Chardonnay with a hot crab dib. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Chardonnay opens with a lifted, expressive nose of wet stone, orange blossom, and fresh lemon curd. A restrained touch of new French oak and some time spent aging on the lees adds subtle complexity without overshadowing the wine’s vibrant aromatics. On the palate, it shows a slightly rounded, supple texture with well-integrated acidity, carrying flavors of ripe stone fruits, baked apple, and hints of vanilla, brioche, and light toast. The finish is balanced and elegant, marrying freshness and gentle richness, making this a versatile and polished expression of Russian River Valley Chardonnay.
