Wine Review: This medium purple and hazy colored Shiraz based blend from Mollydooker opens with a cinnamon and red plum bouquet with hints of chocolate covered cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, rich, and seamless. The flavor profile is a mulberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of black currant and menthol. We also detected hints of cedar, black licorice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed medium tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this Shiraz with Stuart’s steak treats or with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Enchanted Path celebrates everyone's magical journey in life. The 2023 Enchanted Path is a masterful blend of Shiraz and Cabernet, two quintessential Australian varieties that harmonize beautifully. This vintage bursts with wild berries and fresh plum, offering an inviting nose accented by hints of cinnamon, dark chocolate, and subtle touches of pomegranate, cherry, and anise. On the palate, a symphony of flavors unfolds, revealing licorice, mocha, blackberry, and plum, all complemented by delicate notes of vanilla. Fine, expansive tannins create a smooth mouthfeel, carrying the wine's complex layers and evolving into a long, captivating finish. The grapes were grown on the Gateway and Rivers Lane vineyards in McLaren Vale. Barrel fermented and matured in 93% American and 7% French oak, using 84% new and 16% one year old barrels. The required Marquis Fruit Weight™ for the Love Series is 85% - 95%. The Actual Fruit Weight for 2023 Enchanted Path is 87%.
