Wine Review: This bright red colored Nerello Mascalese from Sicily opens with a black cherry and strawberry bouquet with a hint of bubble gum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, a little savory, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a stone dust and mild strawberry blend with notes of black tea and nectarine. I also detected hints of oak and red plum. The finish is rather dry, and its dusty tannins linger and last for a while. I would pair this very good value Nerello Mascalese with a fall-apart roasted pork shoulder with rosemary, mustard and garlic. Enjoy - Ken
