Wine Review: This clear and pale straw colored Falanghina and Cortese blend from Olivia Brion opens with a light honey and almond bouquet with hints of lemon and crushed seashell. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and fresh. The flavor profile is a green tea and lemon blend with notes of almond and stone fruit. We also detected hints of chalky minerality, saline, and a touch of white pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. We would pair this refreshing white blend with grilled swordfish kabobs or sushi. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The foundation of this beautiful white wine is the harmonious blend of two aromatic Italian Grape varietals and one incredible growing site for white wines. Falanghina and Cortese are both grown by second-generation farmers in the Clarksburg AVA on the Sacramento River Delta in the Lost Slough Vineyard. This region is known for Chenin Blanc, another aromatic white. Falanghina has searing acidity and luscious white floral undertones. Cortese has a honeysuckle character with pronounced citrus. Together, these grapes blend to create a wine that is aromatic, bright, and thirst quenching. Just try to stop drinking this all summer long!
