Wine Review: This slightly opaque and medium purple colored Zinfandel from Old Hill Ranch opens with a brambly black raspberry and black tea bouquet with hints of dried herbs and pine resin. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, super smooth and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is graphite and rich black raspberry blend with notes black tea and dried herbs We also detected some hints of oak and red plum in the mix. The finish is dry, and its fine dusty medium tannins are quite extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Zin with grilled flank steak with chimichurri sauce or with coq au vin. Enjoy – KWGTP
