Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Once and Future opens with a blackberry and cedar bouquet with hints of pencil shavings and dried strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth and fresh. The flavor profile is black plum and graphite blend with notes of oolong tea and nutmeg. We also detected hints of dried strawberry, oak, and mulberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed moderate dusty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Zin with braised short ribs or a pot roast. Enjoy - KWGTP
