Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Zinfandel from Once and Future opens with a boysenberry and cherry-cola bouquet with hints of Spanish cedar, cinnamon, chocolate, and wet clay. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, polished, and bright. The flavor profile is gentle blackberry and graphite blend with notes of green tea and cocoa powder. We also detected hints of oak, black pepper, mild black licorice, and a touch of pomegranate. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and its dusty tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time.
