Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah from Côte-Rôtie is very good. It opens with boysenberry, charred oak, and wet stone bouquet with hints of tomato leaf, red plum, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, refined, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a fine stony mineral and black raspberry blend with notes of black tea and black olive. We also detected hints of red plum, mocha, and toasted oak. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins are very lengthy. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with a ribeye with hollandaise sauce or with assorted artisanal sausages. Enjoy – KWGTP
