Wine Review: This clear and dark yellow colored Chenin Blanc from Pax is one of the best values of the summer. It opens with a Bartlett pear and apple pie spice bouquet with hints of honeydew melon and lemon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is a very tasty Anjou pear and lemon verbena blend with notes of honey and chamomile tea. I also detected hints of tangerine and some dried herbs. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. I would pair this Chenin Blanc with chicken picatta or chicken francese.
