Wine Review: This cloudy and dark garnet colored Syrah from Pax is excellent! It opens with a cigar box and Dr. Pepper bouquet with hints of dried strawberry and red licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, fresh, mouthwatering, and savory. The flavor profile is red plum and dried strawberry blend with notes of cedar, black pepper, and mulberry. I also detected hints of cinnamon, orange peel, and clove. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins linger and last for a while. I would pair this Syrah with duck à l'orange. Enjoy - Ken
