Wine Review: This lively Zinfandel from the Dry Creek Valley pours a hazy deep ruby color with aromas of red raspberry, red cherry, mossy oak branches, and grilled plums. The palate is medium-plus bodied with medium acidity. It has a plush mouthfeel, good balance, and is approachable. There are flavors of jammy ripe black plum, cherry compote, oak, and black pepper with notes of licorice and vanilla-cola. The tannins are immediately sticky but round out with some air. The dry finish is long. Serve with smokey and sticky pork butt burnt ends. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: Engaging aromas of rich, ripe berry, with cinnamon, pepper, and toasted oak notes. Flavors of raspberry, cola, nutmeg, and vanilla complement the bouquet. A spicy and full-bodied Zinfandel with a long peppery and toasty finish. Great balance between the fruit and rounded tannins.
