Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Chateauneuf-du-Pape from Pierre Usseglio is terrific! It opens with a fragrant black raspberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of wet stone and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, rich and savory. The flavor profile is blackberry and black raspberry blend with notes of stony minerality, oak and stewed plum. We also detected hints of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors and medium tannins linger and last for a very long time. This CDP would pair well with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
