Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Chateauneuf du Pape opens very fragrant blueberry and Teaberry gum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is savory, layered and a bit hot. The flavor profile is a blueberry and espresso blend with notes of black licorice, toasted oak, and vanilla. We also detected hints of mocha and stony minerality mixed in as well. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate tannins are nicely extended. The Panel would decant this wine is the near term and drink it on its own. Enjoy – KWGTP
