Wine Review: This pitch black colored wine opens with an attractive boysenberry bouquet with a hint of oak and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused plum with notes of blackberry and oak. I also detected hints of dark chocolate and blueberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins linger nicely. This wine would pair well with a NY strip steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The grapes for West Face are grown on the steep slopes of Ferrari-Carano's LookOut Mountain that sits at the junction of Alexander Valley, Knights Valley and Chalk Hill appellations. PreVail West Face is a delicious wine with lush aromas of maple, bacon, cocoa, graphite, plums and violets, leading into full-bodied flavors of blackberry and leather, with licorice on the finish. Fleshy and full, this wine has exquisite depth and lingering, firm tannins that provide textural proof of this wine's ageability. PreVail West Face pairs well with braised, roasted or barbecued meats such as chicken, red meat, lamb or pork.
