Wine Review: This slightly opaque and medium garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Predecessor on Howell Mountain opens with a black currant and black licorice bouquet with hints of cherries, toasted pecan, and faint tobacco. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, seamless, and fresh. The flavor profile is slightly tart black plum and oak blend with notes of tobacco and cherry. We also detected hints of cedar, lingonberry and some stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. This Cab definitely benefits from some early aeration. After decanting, we would serve it with a grilled duck breast followed by some tiramisu. Enjoy - KWGTP
