Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Franc from Predecessor on Howell Mountain opens with a mild black currant and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of black licorice, pencil shavings, violets, and dark cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is black currant and graphite blend with notes of tobacco and cherry. We also detected hints of dried herbs, oak, black pepper, and touch of black raspberry, The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its very bold, yet polished tannins build-up for quite some time. We would decant this Cab Franc for quite some time before pairing it with a well-marbled ribeye or with St. Louis ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
