Wine Review: This light yellow colored Alvarinho displays lots of tiny bubbles when poured. It opens with a yellow grapefruit with a hint of gooseberry and lily flower. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a pleasant mineral infused lime with hints of yellow grapefruit. I also detect a hint of quinine. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors have very nice length. This Alvarinho would pair very nicely with Nova Scotia steamed mussels. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fresh with an intense fruity character. Very mineral wine with notes of apple, plums and peach combined with a dominant citrus-like profile. Well- structured, elegant and unctuous on the palate. A fantastic long and aromatic finish. Very good balance between acidity and dryness/sweetness although the wine almost doesn’t have residual sugar. This makes a wonderful pairing with fish and seafood main courses.
