Wine Review: This ruby colored Barbera d'Asti from Renato Ratti opens with an herbal tea and plum bouquet with hints iris and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and bright. The flavor profile is a crushed stone, tart red plum, and tart red cherry blend with hints of green tea and strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. We would pair this wine with American chop suey. Enjoy – Ken & Mark

Winemaker Notes: Intense red color. Fragrance of ripe fruit against a spice background. Full flavored, pleasant, and elegant, with good persistence. It’s a rich and structured wine, also suited to medium aging. A wine for first courses and red meats.
