Wine Review: The South African Merlot from Riebeek is a dark ruby color in the glass, with aromas of ripe red berries, tobacco leaf and chocolate. It is easy drinking and approachable with a medium body and juicy medium-plus acidity. There are flavors of red plum, black currant, black olive and black tea. The finish is slightly tart and dry, with dusty tannins and a touch of heat. This is a weeknight wine to have with your bacon cheeseburger. – Mark
