Wine Review: This clear and dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Robert Biale opens with an inviting boysenberry and cinnamon bouquet with hints of clove, cherry cola, and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth, seamless, and refined. The flavor profile is tasty mild red raspberry and graphite blend with notes of Dr. Pepper and black pepper. We also detected hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of Australian soft black licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and super fine tannins drift away nicely. Expansive on the palate with notes of blackberry, orange peel, plum, and baking spices all driven to a long finish by balanced acidity.
