Wine Review: This clear and ruby colored Pinot Noir from Rodney Strong opens with a black raspberry and black tea bouquet with hints of cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, zesty, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is spiced red plum and cinnamon tea blend with notes of stone dust and black cherry. I also detected hints of red licorice, oak, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Pinot Noir with leftover turkey in a mushroom gravy over mashed potatoes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ripe red plum and strawberry aromas interlace with purple and red floral notes, vinous flavors, clove, and creamy oak, leading to sweet, spicy flavors of rhubarb. Rose petal notes linger on a long, balanced finish with a touch of youthful tannins, supple acidity, and satiating volume.
