Wine Review: This clear and ruby colored Pinot Noir from Rodney Strong opens with a potting soil and black raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry-cola and Crayola crayon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, lively, and very savory. The flavor profile is loam and black raspberry blend with notes of pomegranate tea and rhubarb. We also detected hints of chalky minerality and coffee. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins fade away nicely. We would decant this rustic styled Pinot for a little bit before pairing it with a Texas style smoked beef brisket platter. Enjoy – Ken & Mark

Winemaker Notes: Bright aromas of blue fruit and hibiscus flowers. On the palate, juicy blueberries, and ripe pomegranate, with subtle undertones of oak spice and nutmeg. Soft, rounded mouthfeel supported on the finish by lithe, playful tannins. Enjoy this pinot with duck confit, pork loin roast or grilled lamb.
