Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Syrah opens with a musty barnyard and new leather bouquet with hints of graphite and chocolate ganache. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced and round. The flavor profile is a graphite influenced blackberry and black olive blend with notes of moderate oak. I also detected hints of oregano, black pepper, apple skin and a touch of boysenberry. The finish is dry and its tannins hang on nicely after the wine is gone. I would pair this unique and old school Syrah with a grilled skirt steak, braised short ribs or sliced wild boar salami. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Saintpierre is a deep, dark red color with purple hues. It is full-bodied and vibrant revealing lovely elements of tart cherry, leather, spice and earth on the nose. Lush and long on the palate, with notes of sour raspberry jam, blueberry compote and blackcurrant. Jammy red fruit balances with a linear acidity making this low-yield cuvee one of the more stunning from the region. A brilliant wine to serve with an array of meals from herbs de Provence crusted lamb roasts and wild boar stews.
