Wine Review: This ruby colored Syrah from South Africa is really good. It opens with an inviting boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty boysenberry and plum blend with wonderfully integrated mild cedar. I also detected hints of chalky minerality towards the end. The finish is dry and its refined fine tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This Syrah will be a crowd pleaser and will not last long. I would serve it with a skirt steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Aromatic hints of black cherry, raspberry and mocha are evident. Fine tannins and savory notes add to the complexity of this eponymous bottling from winemaker Rudi Schultz.
