Wine Review: This medium purple colored Tempranillo based wine from Portugal opens with a red plum and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. Overall it was round and nicely balanced. The flavor profile is a black cherry and gentle plum blend with notes of dark chocolate, espresso and earthy minerality. We also detected hints of bay leaf and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors and very fine tannins fade away nicely. While this is not a very complex wine, it is rather tasty, food friendly and versatile. Given its price point, stock up and enjoy it with your favorite burger, a hearty stew or even a meat-lovers pizza on Tuesday night. Enjoy – Ken, Stuart & Karen

Winemaker Notes: Fruity aromas with very elegant and discreet minerality in balance with barrel-aging notes. Berries, spices, subtle notes of vanilla and toast. Fruity and persistent with fresh and elegant aftertaste. Try with beef roasts, Iberian ham and cheeses.
