Wine Review: This medium coral colored Rosé from Sakonnet Vineyard in Rhode Island opens with a watermelon and nectarine bouquet with hints of maraschino cherry and citrus zest. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and fresh. The flavor profile is a watermelon and saline blend with notes of Galia melon and tangerine. We also detected hints of maraschino cherry and green tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. We would pair this Rosé with shrimp scampi. Enjoy - Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: The Eye of the Storm Rose was first crafted in 1985 after Hurricane Gloria ravaged the vineyard. This was the first year that Sakonnet started developing partnerships with other vineyards.
Flavor Profile: Dry, medium body, ripe, cherry, rhubarb, and white blossom.
