Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Zinfandel based blend from Saracina is very good. It opens with a red raspberry and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of plum, black cherry and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The wine is balanced, juicy and bright. The flavor profile is a tasty boysenberry and cinnamon blend with notes of stewed plum and star anise and a hint of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity and mild tannins linger nicely. This red blend is easy to drink and would pair well with many foods. I would pair it with a juicy burger smothered with sautéed mushrooms and topped with Swiss cheese and crispy bacon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Deep rich magenta hue, this is a very soulful vintage of Old Soul Red-with a new look! Ripe black cherry and savory notes on the nose. The palate is rich and dense, with ripe tannins that wrap around a core of fruit and lend to a long, satisfying finish. Our 2018 Old Soul Red would be equally brilliant on a weeknight night pollo asado tacos or on a weekend evening with a mixed grill and roast root vegetables.
