Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Carignane opens with a graphite, mild cherry and faint dark chocolate bouquet with a hint of cranberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is an oak, graphite, cherry and black olive blend with notes of black licorice, dried herbs and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around and linger for a very long time. This Carignane would pair very nicely with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Sourced from 35+-year-old vines at the Forchini Vineyard here in the Dry Creek Valley this wine showcases a bright acidity, brambly earth, light body, raspberries, and hints of vanilla.
