Wine Review: This elegant Chardonnay is a medium straw color and open with lime, lemon custard, green apple and talc in the bouquet. It has a medium plus body and medium plus acidity, and is velvety, slightly creamy and balanced. The flavors are juicy green apple, lime zest and minerality with a hint of nutmeg. The citrusy finish is quite long and has some baking spice on the back-end. I would pair this with seared scallops with citrus butter. – Mark

Winemaker Notes: This hand-harvested, small-batch Chardonnay hails from the Santa Lucia Highlands, where the cool climate results in complex, intense wines. Barrel fermentation in small, medium-toast French oak and partial malolactic fermentation bring a richness and depth to the blend, which is elegantly balanced with dramatic tropical fruit flavors. Aromas of nutmeg and vanilla tie the wine together in a medium body with a lush, lingering finish.
