Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah based blend from Paso Robles opens with a mixed berry pie and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of prune. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and bright. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and tobacco blend with notes of graphite and fig. We also detected hints of marionberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished well-managed tannins fade away nicely. We would pair this red blend with beef bourguignon or with a slow cooked pot roast. Enjoy - Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: The Sea Shell Estate Cuvee is like a traditional Paso Cabernet Sauvignon, but with much more depth. It is big and weighty with moderate acidity. There is a long savory finish - almost umani like. This wine would be delicious with heavy food... the classic steak pairing!
