Wine Review: This ruby colored wine made from "Bobal" grapes opens with a new leather and black licorice bouquet with hints of dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is cedar influenced juicy black plum with notes of loam and black tea. I also picked up some hints of cured meat and black olive. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins are nicely extended. If you have never tried a Bobal, this is a low-cost chance to try something new and you will be pleased. We would serve it with grilled Angus steak tips. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: A very deep black cherry color with a light-purple rim. On the nose, nice red berry, and black fruit aromas, such as strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants are underpinned by creamy, slightly toasty oak, together with touches of spice and licorice. Very flavorsome on the palate, fruit-forward, with rounded tannins, good acidity and slight hints of vanilla, smoke, and toast. A wine with both individual character and harmonious balance. Excellent with hearty meals such as red meat, game, or duck. Also, with strong cheese or pâtés.
