Wine Review: This clear and golden colored Chardonnay from Sojourn opens with a fragrant pineapple and oak bouquet with hints of poached pear and lemon zest. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very round, rich, and dense. The flavor profile is a tasty oak influenced pineapple and Bosc pear blend with notes with notes of ginger cookie and peach. I also detected hints of chamomile tea and a touch of caramel. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I would pair this Chard with a sherry laced lobster bisque. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: 2023 was ideal for growing Chardonnay in the Sonoma Coast. The grapes developed complex flavors while holding onto their acidity and freshness. Our "Sonoma Coast" Chardonnay showcases three of the top vineyards in the region - Sangiacomo, Durell, and Gap’s Crown. They combine to create a blend that illustrates the varietal's exceptional character. Each block was fermented in 30% new French oak barrels and kept separate until final blending. An expressive nose of stone fruit and apple leads to vibrant flavors and lively acidity.
