Wine Review: This white gold colored Picpoul based wine from France opens with a lemon and dried herb bouquet with hints of grapefruit pith and green apple. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is fresh, vibrant, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a white grapefruit and nectarine blend with notes of stony minerality and lemon tea. We also detected hints of saline, green apple, and ginger. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are quite refreshing. We would pair this very good value Picpoul with the beach and serve it slightly chilled. With food try it with swordfish skewers or fried scallops. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2024 vintage of Souleil Vin de Bonté Le Blanc is lean, citrus-driven, and electric with acidity. Star-bright in the glass, this lively blend of Piquepoul and Ugni Blanc opens with herbaceous notes of grapefruit and ripe citrus. The palate is zippy, with pithy lemon, dried herbs, and a briny touch of coarse sea salt. Its sharp acidity and lingering finish make it the perfect partner for apéro bites like oysters, Marcona almonds, and salted potato chips.
