Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Cabernet opens with a smoky oak and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, ultra smooth, and well balanced. The flavor profile is a very tasty old oak and black currant blend with a hint of cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are slightly prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this impressive Cab with beef bourguignon or a veal chop. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2008 has an absolutely beautiful, full nose of black fruits (boysenberry and blackberry) with notes of camphor, clove, and cedar. Wonderful ripe tannins, with hints of graphite and warm fireplace ash. Great length. Beautifully knitted, this complex, multi-layered wine showcases the Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon at its best.
