Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from St. Francis opens with a black pepper and brambleberry bouquet with hints of loam and graphite. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and a little mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a black raspberry and tobacco blend with notes of light graphite and sage. I also detected hints of black cherry, black pepper, cinnamon, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Zin with Firefly’s Memphis barbecue baby back ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Vibrant and tempting, this wine shows off rich aromas of blackberry, blueberry and warm spices layered with flavors of black raspberry, cherry pie, dried fig, and graham cracker. A touch of acidity accents the spicy notes of cinnamon, clove, and white pepper that emerge on the finish.
