Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Merlot from St. Francis opens with a fragrant black currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of marionberry, oak, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is gentle blackberry and oak blend with notes of mocha and black plum. We also detected hints of graphite, blueberry, and mild green tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed mild fine-grained tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this Merlot with a filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
