Wine Review: This clear and pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from St. Francis opens with a very fragrant gooseberry and white grapefruit bouquet with hints of kiwi and white peach. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is fresh and zesty. The flavor profile is a tart white grapefruit and stony minerality blend with notes of stone fruit and green apple. I also detected hints of asparagus and lime. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. We used this Sauvignon Blanc in and with our chicken piccata. It worked well. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This refreshing and crisp wine offers generous aromas of honeydew melon, grapefruit, kiwi, apricot and lime that lead the way to flavors of tangerine, fresh apple, and white peach. The small percentage of neutral oak aging provides roundness and length on the finish, complementing the bright acidity and note of minerality in this elegant white.
