Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Stags' Leap Winery opens with a cassis and black licorice bouquet with hints of blueberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is mild black licorice and graphite blend with notes of oak and gentle blackberry. I also detected hints of black plum, dried sage, and green tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and gentle dusty tannins stick around for a little while. I would pair this Petite Sirah with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
