Wine Review: 91.This clear and straw-colored Chardonnay from Stags Leap Winery opens with a grilled pineapple and nectarine bouquet with hints of oak and faint banana. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a bartlett pear and butter blend with notes of mild red apple and integrated oak. I also detected hints of pineapple, white pepper, minerality, and herbal tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This Chard is Theresa endorsed and we would pair it with scallop and lobster cream sauce stuffed mushrooms topped with Swiss cheese.
