Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Malbec from Susana Balbo is very good. It opens with a fragrant blackberry and red plum bouquet with hints of lavender and sandalwood. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity and is very rich for a Malbec. The flavor profile is a black raspberry and oak blend with notes of ripe plum and black olive. There were also some hints of Christmas spice mixed in as well. The finish is dry and there is a touch of heat with the tannins. The Panel suggested pairing this Malbec with eggplant parmigiana.
